Architextures :: LIGHT

October 3 @ 10:00 pm

Event Navigation

LIGHT returns with another night of dance floor driven music that aims to move the body and expand the mind.

We are very excited to be welcoming a special guest who has been making waves in Toronto’s underground dance culture lately

As a DJ, CEREMONIES has held it down at various venues through out Toronto. She tastefully weaves through genres of techno, break beat, and bass music. While her sounds are vast, the underlying aesthetic of interesting percussion and heavy hitting basslines sticks as and undeniable staple through out her selections.

As 1/3 of promotional power house ON EARTH, she has been hosting a number of underground dance events that is really pushing new sounds to new audiences. Needless to say it wont be long until she becomes a household name on the lips of every dancer and music aficionado in Toronto and beyond.

Warming up the dance will be Architextures favourite power house couple, Taliya Cohen and Lichael Mambert as MR. NONDETACHABLE.

Closing things out will be a special tag set between young music prodigy, CAPE ESAN and FRITZ to keep us grooving late into the night.

While gathering each week as we do, we ask ourselves as a community to consider the history, spirituality, culture and longstanding relationships, which include practices of caring for the Land, Water and all beings in creation, that have been maintained by the Indigenous peoples of this region through the long history of the Huron-Wendat to the diverse populations that exist today. In particular we acknowledge our responsibilities under the laws of the Dish with One Spoon Treaty that we share with current treaty holders, the six nations of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy and the Mississaugas of the New Credit, who are Anishinaabe Ojibwe people. We seek to live in respect, peace, and right relations with our human and more than human communities while we work, dance and share our art & music upon their traditional territory as we are so fortunate to do here in Tkaronto. We are mindful of broken treaties and the need to establish respectful relationships.
